CAII Director Dr. Eliu Huerta and his colleagues worked on a project using neural networks to analysis numerical relativity waveforms that describe the collision of two black holes, and infer how fast the black holes rotate. A new approach to deep learning is making it easier to study gravitational waves and black hole spin.
